The ribbon interface in Excel 2007, 2010, 2013, 2016, 2019 and 365 has distributed and grouped menus and toolbars under different tabs. While this grouping is convenient, some users find it difficult to locate specific commands, earlier found in the tools menu, across different tabs.
If you are a fan of the classic style interface, finding a specific function, from the former Tools menu, in the new ribbon interface can be a challenge! But with Classic Menu for Excel 2007/2010/2013, the same task can be super simple! For example,
Click the Menus tab to experience the classic style interface and find the Tools menu easily. Click the arrow next to the Tools to access the familiar functions from the dropdown menu.
As with Word, Excel and PowerPoint in Office 2007, the classic menu has disappeared in Outlook 2010, Outlook 2013 and Outlook 2016. People who have been sending emails with Outlook for many years suddenly don't know how to perform simple tasks. UBitMenu for Outlook enables you to go on working in an environment you know and with the former efficiency. The new hot-keys of Outlook are shown in the menu, flattening your learning-curve.
UBitMenu for Outlook helps authorities and enterprises to save costs during the rollout of Office 2013 and Office 2016. The easy access to the old menu structure prevents productivity losses. The costs for training can be reduced dramatically.
I'm not sure on which edition of Excel @NikolinoDE works with Tools menu. My understanding on modern Excel we shall to install "classic menu" add-in to have it Where is the Tools Menu in Microsoft Excel 2007, 2010, 2013, 2016, 2019 and 365 (addintools.com)
In SharePoint Online this limitation seems to not exist, there I can browse between libraries in same site collection or even different site collections. but not in SharePoint 2019 on-premises. And anyway, I only see the move/copy to menu if I am using the modern experience view, this isn't there in classic view mode.
Totally agree. Ribbons are a real step backwards. When I use a netbook, half my screen disappears with loads of unwanted icons and it takes simply ages to do anything. It is not easy to get help anymore as the new online help is a real struggle. The FAQ style help really does not work for me. This isn't anything to do with resistance to change, the new style simply doesn't work efficiently or even intuitively. If I used Word or Excel all day and every day then I would probably get to remember where the various icons are located and this would offset the hunting around. I really don't understand why Microsoft couldn't provide an alternative and optional classic menu.
Why couldn't they leave well enough alone? The drop down menus worked, and that was what we were used to. The ribbon doesn't improve on it, it just forces us to relearn where everything is and what it looks like. The routines some of us learned over the years and were ingrained in us are now useless. They should at least give the option of the classic view or the stupid ribbon view.
PLEASE bring back the classic menu bar, or make the ribbon usable for keyboard users and configurable, so all these really idiotic keys can be changed, e.g. for File -> Save as, why the hell T fo Save As??? It really seems many of the key have been choosen randomly.
Id just like to point out about the "RESOURCES REQUIRED" is actualy not a relevant point, the menu was allready there and perfected between office 2000-2003, not to mention anyone that knows any programing knows the user interface only acts on triggers\events\functions that are allready there or in 2k 2k3 case user made.
It is ridiculous to think that a generic user who has previously been sold on the ease of SharePoint in adding or editing an single item to a list (for example) can suddenly transgress to a scenario whereby they have a huge ribbon bar appear with a zillionoptions for them to chose from! Generic users that are not proficient in working with office documents will not only consider this 'serious information overload' but will also wonder where the heck their navigation menu has gone and get in a right pickle trying to get it back! ... likely they will give up and start slating SharePoint instead. 2ff7e9595c
